Abstrak :
Kanker adalah penyebab utama kematian di seluruh dunia. Salah satu tanaman sebagai obat herbal yang memiliki senyawa bioaktif sebagai pengobatan kanker adalah ekstrak daun Mangrove. Potensi Sitotoksik pada daun mangrove (Avicennia alba Blume) diketahui melalui uji toksisitas dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek toksisitas dengan menentukan nilai lethal concentration (LC) atau kematian larva Artemia salina Leach sebanyak 50% atau disebut LC?? pada ekstrak etanol, fraksi N-heksan dan etil asetat daun mangrove (Avicennia alba Blume) dan mengetahui hubungan pelarut serta kosentrasi terhadap efek sitoksisik terhadap larva udang (Artemia salina Leach). Daun mangrove (Avicennia alba Blume) yang diambil dari hutan mangrove yang terletak di daerah Siak, diekstraksi dengan cara maserasi selama 9 hari dengan etanol 96%. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan Rendemen ekstrak etanol diperoleh 18,2%, susut pengeringan simplisia 7,65%, Kadar air 18,14%, kadar abu total simplisia 7,91% dan kadar abu total 9,04%. Skrining fitokimia ekstrak menunjukkan simplisia dan ekstrak mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, fenolik dan saponin. Fraksi heksana dan etil asetat tidak dijumpai kandungan saponin. Uji toksisitas ini menggunakan 6 konsentrasi yaitu 5000 ppm, 1000 ppm, 100 ppm, 50 ppm, 20 ppm, dan 10 ppm. Ekstrak diteteskan sebanyak 0,5 ml kedalam 10 ekor larva yang diberikan air asin. Selanjutnya observasi selama 24 jam dan hitung berapa banyak kematian larva dalam setiap konsentrasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol 96% daun mangrove mempunyai mempunyai LC?? 65,11 ppm menunjukkan nilai rendah dan lebih toksik dibandingakan fraksi etil asetat dan N-heksan yang memiliki nilai LC?? menunjukkan 88,36 ppm dan fraksi N-heksan sebesar 11928 ppm.

Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. One of the plants used as herbal medicine which has bioactive compounds as a cancer treatment is Mangrove leaf extract. The cytotoxic potential of mangrove leaves (Avicennia alba Blume) was determined through a toxicity test using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. The aim of this research is to determine the toxicity effect by determining the lethal concentration (LC) value or 50% mortality of Artemia salina Leach larvae or called LC?? in ethanol extract, N-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions of mangrove leaves (Avicennia alba Blume) and determine the solvent relationship. as well as the concentration of cytotoxic effects on shrimp larvae (Artemia salina Leach). Mangrove leaves (Avicennia alba Blume) taken from mangrove forests located in the Siak area, were extracted by maceration for 9 days with 96% ethanol. The research results showed that the ethanol extract yield was 18.2%, the drying loss of simplicia was 7.65%, the water content was 18.14%, the total ash content of simplicia was 7.91% and the total ash content was 9.04%. Phytochemical screening of the extract showed that simplicia and the extract contained alkaloid, flavonoid, phenolic and saponin compounds. The hexane and ethyl acetate fractions did not contain saponins. This toxicity test uses 6 concentrations, namely 5000 ppm, 1000 ppm, 100 ppm, 50 ppm, 20 ppm and 10 ppm. 0.5 ml of the extract was dropped into 10 larvae that were given salt water. Next, observe for 24 hours and count how many larvae die in each concentration. The research results showed that the 96% ethanol extract of mangrove leaves had an LC?? of 65.11 ppm, indicating a low value and was more toxic than the ethyl acetate and N-hexane fractions which had an LC?? value of 88.36 ppm and the N-hexane fraction of 11928 ppm.
