Abstrak :

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana media online Tempo.co membingkai pemberitaan mengenai film animasi lokal Jumbo. Film Jumbo merupakan salah satu karya animasi Indonesia yang berhasil menarik perhatian publik dengan capaian penonton yang sangat tinggi serta mendapat sorotan internasional. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat konstruksi realitas media terhadap fenomena tersebut menggunakan analisis framing model Robert N. Entman, yang mencakup empat elemen utama: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgement, dan treatment recommendation. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis framing. Data diperoleh melalui dokumentasi teks berita yang dimuat dalam portal Tempo.co terkait film Jumbo. Selanjutnya, berita-berita tersebut dianalisis untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana Tempo.co menyusun narasi, menonjolkan isu tertentu, serta membingkai makna dari kesuksesan film Jumbo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tempo.co mendefinisikan Jumbo sebagai simbol kebangkitan industri animasi Indonesia (define problems). Kesuksesan film ini dijelaskan melalui kualitas produksi, strategi distribusi, dan dukungan masyarakat (diagnose causes). Dari sisi penilaian moral, Tempo.co menekankan pentingnya apresiasi terhadap karya anak bangsa serta nilai kolaborasi dalam proses kreatif (make moral judgement). Sementara itu, pada aspek rekomendasi, Tempo.co mendorong adanya dukungan lebih lanjut dari pemerintah, investor, dan masyarakat untuk memperkuat ekosistem animasi nasional (treatment recommendation). Dengan demikian, framing yang dibangun Tempo.co tidak hanya menyoroti keberhasilan Jumbo, tetapi juga memberikan dorongan optimis bagi perkembangan industri animasi lokal di Indonesia. This research aims to examine how the online media Tempo.co frames news coverage of the Indonesian animated film Jumbo. Jumbo is one of the most prominent local animation works that successfully captured public attention with its high audience reach and international recognition. The focus of this study is to analyze the media’s construction of reality regarding this phenomenon using Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis model, which consists of four key elements: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgement, and treatment recommendation. This study employs a qualitative method with a framing analysis approach. The data were collected from Tempo.co news articles related to the film Jumbo. These texts were then analyzed to identify how Tempo.co constructs narratives, emphasizes particular issues, and frames the meaning behind the success of Jumbo. The findings indicate that Tempo.co defines Jumbo as a symbol of the revival of the Indonesian animation industry (define problems). The film’s success is attributed to production quality, distribution strategies, and public support (diagnose causes). In terms of moral judgement, Tempo.co highlights the importance of appreciating local works and the value of collaboration in the creative process (make moral judgement). Finally, regarding recommendations, Tempo.co encourages further support from the government, investors, and the public to strengthen the national animation ecosystem (treatment recommendation). Thus, the framing constructed by Tempo.co not only emphasizes the achievement of Jumbo but also promotes optimism for the future development of Indonesia’s animation industry.
